LRS 036: What Are Our 2 Missions in Life 125

What Are Our 2 Missions in Life - The Let's Reach Success Podcast

We’re all here for a reason, we all need a purpose and to have a driving force that can help us make it through the days. It’s meaning we’re after in life, and in today’s episode of the Let’s Reach Success Podcast I’ll talk about what that is.

Most wander through life, without a direction, without setting and trying to reach any specific goals, and then they blame life and others for their unhappiness.

But it’s the lack of a mission that stands in the way of their peace of mind and ability to live life to the fullest.

I’ve come to the conclusion that we have not only 1, but 2 main missions, and in that we’re all equal. There are many others, of course, according to our interests, the people around us, the stage we’re at in our lives, etc.

But 2 things stand out and are true for any individual.

They’re both beautiful things, and lead to true contentment. Each is absolutely achievable, I’m not talking about material things here. You’ve got all it takes to live a life of purpose, and if you still haven’t found a reason to keep your hope alive, a way to contribute to the world and feel worthy, and to enjoy all that, today I’ll give you two.

Show Notes:

  • Why you should have a purpose [1:44]
  • What’s our most important mission in life [3:48]
  • How we change the world and what true service looks like [4:15]
  • The 2nd most important thing to do with your life [7:04]
  • You’ve already found your passion. You’re just ignoring it. [8:15]
  • A real-life example of how a passion can be found [9:10]
  • A simple formula for happiness [11:40]
  • Why defining what you don’t want in life turns out to be more important than what you want [12:50]

Action Steps:

  1. Define what serving others means to you.
  2. Find a way to help someone once a day. It doesn’t need to be big, it just needs to be genuine, without expecting anything in return.
  3. Think about all the things you enjoy, the ones that make you lose track of time when doing them. Figure out which one you’re most passionate about.
If you can’t think of anything, try new things until you’re super interested in something and see potential there.
  4. Once you know your thing, start doing your research, dedicate time to it daily, and make something big out of it.

Signs You’re Stuck in a Rut (and How to Get Out) 17

signs you're stuck in a rut and what to do about it

Life has its ups and downs for all of us, but sometimes those downs creep up and take hold without us noticing. All of a sudden we look around and realize that we’ve found ourselves stuck deep in a rut. If you don’t know you’re in a rut, it can be very difficult to get out and this can lead to lasting negative effects on your health and happiness.

So how do you know when you’re in a rut?

And, more importantly, what can you do to get back on track?

One of the biggest red flags that demonstrate that you might be drifting listlessly through your own life is that you spend most of it daydreaming of being somewhere else.

It’s perfectly normal to spend some time in the office wishing you were lying on a beach instead, but if this is a permanent state of affairs, it’s a sign that you’re dangerously bored. Try adding some spontaneity into your life to liven things up a bit, at least until that next vacation.

If you don’t have an exotic location to jet off to, you need to make sure you still have some things to look forward to. If the only thing you have any anticipation for is getting into bed at the end of every day, then you’re definitely in a rut and need to start finding enjoyment in the little things in life, appreciating all of the things that come in between waking up and going back to bed again.

Social media is a great tool for lots of things in our lives. But it can also have a very damaging effect on your mental health because it’s easy to be fooled by the edited highlights of their lives people put on there. This can leave you feeling envious because the day to day reality of your life doesn’t look like what you assume everyone’s life is, so stop obsessing over other people and shift your focus back to yourself.

Doing this shouldn’t come at the expense of actually ever seeing other people or doing anything, of course. So if you’re finding that you are spending all of your time at home rather than getting out and seeing friends, or claiming that you don’t have time to do anything (when the reality is quite the opposite), these are all also signs that you need to think hard about changing your habits.

Nobody ever wants to get stuck in a rut, but in a world where work-life balances are getting ever more hard to maintain and technology is eating into face to face interactions, it’s easy to find yourself wondering where your life went. These tips from NetCredit will help you identify whether you are living yours in a rut and will help you start to find your way out again.
