All of my guides on how to start a blog or a business website usually encourage you to try the platforms I’ve used and recommend – that’s getting a good hosting provider (+ domain name) and building a self-hosted WordPress site.
While these are amazing and can help you build a powerful foundation for your online business, for some people it’s just too much.
You might have a hard time understanding WordPress.org, switching to it and making the most of all the plugins and features available.
Maybe you aren’t sure which hosting company to choose and how the setup process looks like.
Once you figure it out, you might realize adding an online store involves a third-party platform and to sell and promote, you need to take many more steps.
All this can prevent them from actually building a website and having an online store. So, to anyone who doesn’t need WordPress, just wants to have 1 platform where they can publish all their work and sell their products or services, Zyro is the all-in-one solution they might have been looking for.
In this article, you’ll learn what it is and how to get started with it even if you have no experience.

How to Get Started
If you’re interested in a simple website and online store builder and are ready to start selling online, check out the pricing plans Zyro offers.
1. Choose your plan.
If you just want to get your website and blog out there and start creating and promoting content, then consider the Basic and Unleashed pricing plans.
If you’re looking to build an eCommerce business though, the other 2 packages are what you’re after. It’s important to only pay for what you need so you can focus on the right aspects of your business and grow your audience and brand.
The ECOMMERCE plan has everything you need to get a small to medium store up and running (product management options, selling via social media, promotions, helpful customer insights, etc.)
The ECOMMERCE+ plan unlocks more features (automated abandoned cart recovery, product filtering, multi-lingual store, selling on Amazon, a Facebook shop and Instagram store, etc.)
2. Create and design your website.
I’m on the eCommerce + plan and will now show you the steps to quickly create your website.
Head to Websites section in the menu and click ‘Get Started’.
Next, you can choose your template. They are all responsive and you can preview each.
I’ll go to the eCommerce section and pick the first one.
Click ‘Start Building’ and you’ll be taken to the Editor where you can personalize any element of the website.
Use your brand colors, add your own visuals, include your address, working hours and social media links in the footer.
Currently, you have a Homepage, About page, Shop and Contact pages. You can edit those as you see fit and add more pages.
In the menu on the right, you will see an icon that allows you to add a blog to your website with one click.
From that section, you can publish new articles and manage all your blog posts.
You can add new pages, new elements and change styles as well as preview your site on mobile from the sections in the menu on top.
Once you’ve created the website that resonates with your brand and vision, click the ‘Publish website’ button in the top right corner.
3. Choose your domain name and launch your website.
The next step is to choose your domain name.
You can create a free one with Zyro or get a custom one to make your site professional.
4. Add your store.
Go to Settings -> Online Store.
From there, you’ll be prompted to open the Store Manager.
There’s a whole new dashboard for it and you’ll see the first steps you need to take with your new store.
Each of the action items on the list takes a few minutes. The first step is to add your products and services + their details (name, price, image, etc.)
After that, you can set up the regional settings (location, currency, language).
Step #4 is all about shipping. You can choose how your customers will get their products after payment.
Finally, set up the payment options and you’ll be good to go.
Here’s what the other items on this dashboard allow you to do:
- My Sales – track your sales.
- Catalog – add new products, product categories and gift cards.
- Marketing – tools to get traffic to your store and new customers, convert visitors into customers, keep buyers coming back for more and analyze your performance.
You can enable Google Ads, run ads on Facebook, have discount coupons or automatic discounts, send newsletters and automated emails to keep in touch with your audience, promote products and offer discounts.
- Reports – here you can get your most important metrics so you can know how your online store is doing and what can be improved.
Overview – go where your customers are by having a Facebook and Instagram shop and listing your products on popular marketplaces like Amazon and Google Shopping.
- Design – from this section you can change the look of your story any time.
- Settings – give your store a name and address, connect your social media channels, add your company info and manage all catalog and checkout settings.
So that’s how you can set up your website and online store in less than 1 hour.
