ending the year, my direction for 2026

Closing the Year With Clarity: My Direction for 2026

This time of the year can carry a lot of different energies.

For some, it’s intense. For others, a time to do nothing else but be with loved ones. And for many, that itself creates the intensity.

Some have set their goals for 2026 already (cheers for that!), others are reflecting on the past 12 months and deciding what they want to release and no longer make space for (any practice that helps you do this is amazing, I’d say).

For me, this year, 2025, ends a little differently.

I just gave birth 3 days ago, and yet I feel more peaceful than on other New Years.

Regardless of all the changes in my life, that still has to do with the same factors:

  • my relationship with myself (how I feel about who I am and what I do, staying true to myself);
  • making sure I’m living the life I want;
  • personal growth (mental toughness, manifestation, reading and learning, etc.);
  • taking aligned action (and being kind to myself when in doubt, acting out of fear, or being distracted by other goals and paths);
  • being connected to my body and heart’s desires.

If that’s on point, things are fine.

My birth story?

Well, it was the most painful and adventurous day of my life, but also the most powerful and beautiful one.

Baby girl (her name is Aria) is doing very well, and regardless of the exact interventions that happened, what went according to the plan and what didn’t, I am doing well too.

Of course, I am very blessed to be feeling like myself and be writing this now, with free time on my hands. My family doesn’t live in the same country so I don’t have that kind of help, but I still have a lot of help in the first weeks.

My partner is home with us and we divide tasks equally, and the system in the Netherlands is structured in a way that you’re well taken care of in the first week. In the hospital we got all the help and support we needed, and after getting home, a woman comes daily for a few hours a day to teach us how to take care of a newborn and to also do cooking and cleaning.

So, about the birth: I prepared mentally, physically and emotionally for months, and the end result is this: my nervous system is regulated, and I stayed calm in moments when everyone expected me to worry or panic.

I turned this into one big personal growth project (much like I did with my surgery) and enjoyed preparing my subconscious mind and body for the big day as well as for postpartum.

But the most important part is this:

I opened myself for any possibility, any scenario, and decided that after it, I will feel that it was the best possible birth I could have had.

And that’s what I feel today.

This is a reminder to prep your mind, and trust the process.

Plan and decide, but then let go and surrender ✨

Now, let me share a few things.

2026 for me will look like:

  • embracing my new reality as a mom;
  • finding my kind of balance between working from home and having baby girl around me;
  • becoming the kind of mom I aspire to be (and figuring out what that is exactly);
  • personal growth;
  • my word for 2026 in business is authority. I’m doubling down on teaching one main thing – sponsored blogging – and there will be new things happening in my world around that. Stick around to find out what. I will put building authority in my niche over growing blog traffic, affiliate marketing, obsessing over Pinterest or Google algorithm updates, looking aesthetic on socials, or chasing trends;
  • FUN – I didn’t have much fun in 2025. Some could say it’s due to lifestyle changes like moving to a new city in the beginning of the year and then being pregnant for the last 9 months. And while these are factors indeed, it was also a choice. Now, despite what everyone says about the first year of motherhood, I do want to have more fun. That means including baby girl in the things I want to do (instead of not doing them). Enjoying more family activities. Implementing personal growth and manifestation throughout my days in new ways. More dates with my partner. Choosing the things that will bring joy. And more. Let’s see how that goes;
  • Precision in my business – less is more! That looks like simplifying email marketing, focusing on 1 main theme, optimizing funnels, regular social media content but with intention. Not overdelivering with free content or changing offers and themes constantly or getting distracted by what feels good in the moment, but valuing my time, creating for the people I can help the most. Not people-pleasing. Precision with my time, money, resources, knowledge, and anything inbetween. This creates a solid brand, structure, authority, consistency;
  • Money mindset work (well, this one never really stops, does it 🤭).
