early mornings - I Want to Change My Life, But Where Do I Start?

The Gift of Early Mornings: What You Can Find in The Silence of 6 AM

I’m not really a morning person, but every now and then, I just happen to get up early and I remember what mornings like that give us.

I had phases in life where I was an early riser, even while being self-employed. That was mostly when I was growing the business and preparing for the next chapter (getting things off the ground and later relocating to another country thanks to my online income).

Then I was motivated to rise early and get things done.

Other times, I did it simply because I wanted a more productive lifestyle and to have long, slow mornings and a morning routine filled with good habits.

These days, I take it easy. I enjoy the perks of working for myself, such as the freedom to structure my day for maximum freedom. I can sleep in and work can still get done. Different people operate best at different times so it’s important to listen to our intuition and body and give them what they need.

But waking up early today and being at the laptop by 7am (having done my morning routine and feeling positive and energized) and being inspired to write this post – well that takes life to a whole new level.

It makes me ask myself: What can I achieve if I keep doing this? How much more work (and more quality results) can be done because of it? How much better will I feel about myself?

If you’ve forgotten about the gift of early mornings, or only associate them with rush and obligations (such as having to go to work), then let me remind you of the real deal: waking up earlier than you have to, because you want to. Here’s what this can offer:

Peace

The world is quiet. Probably no one expects anything from you at this time (unless you have young kids at home or else), and you can start the day slowly.

Lack of rush is a luxury these days.

Probably no one will call or text you either, and if you choose not to spend time on your phone, even better.

A real morning routine

There’s so much you can add to your morning routine. Here I’ve listed different morning habits that are great for it.

Of course, it’s not about quantity here. The point is to do what works for you, to not overdo it, and to actually enjoy it.

I’m indoorsy so going out first thing in the morning isn’t really something I want.

But if that’s the case for you, go out for a small walk, or even do a workout. Breathe the fresh air, watch the sun rise, experience the world around you, listen to a podcast that empowers you, and come back home ready to get things done.

For me, it’s more like: making bed, stretching, tea, skincare routine, affirmations + tapping, gratitude, and deciding what to get done today.

As long as it feels good and gives results, make it a part of your morning.

Ideally, I’d write a post every morning. It’s what I used to do when I was growing my blog Let’s Reach Success and it was so much fun.

Maybe I can get back to it?!

Me time

If you rarely get the chance to have some me time, early mornings might be your chance.

What’s your priority? Now’s the chance to invest some time in it.

This is when you can simply rest and free your mind, or you can dive into personal growth practices (journaling, meditation, reading).

You can also invest time in your business, or start that side hustle you’ve been thinking about.

Want to be more fit? Squeeze in a workout in the early hours of the day.

Want to eat healthier? Do meal prep before everyone else is up.

Want to learn a new skill? Use this extra time to take a course and practice what you learn.

You can also write a book, learn a new language, become a UGC creator on TikTok or Instagram and work with brads, or anything else you can think of.

And of course, stay consistent.

Early mornings hold potential and possibility.

There’s no pressure and no perfection. It’s not about doing more, hustling harder, or becoming a morning person overnight. It’s about making space for the things that matter to you before the rest of the world wakes up and asks for your attention.

Whatever it is, the best part is that it’s yours.

And when you start the day already having done something meaningful, intentional or energizing, everything else flows better.

That’s the real gift of early mornings.

Not just the calm, but the clarity. Not just the quiet, but the confidence that you’re showing up for yourself.
