With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.
Dalai Lama

Inspiration is that state of mind where you feel highly stimulated to do something. Your senses are heightened, you feel invincible, full of energy and enthusiasm and are completely dedicated to what you are doing.

Don’t mix it up with motivation, which is the reason for one’s behavior or the willingness to do something. It usually has outer stimulus, whereas inspiration comes from the inside.

The best novels in the world, your favorite songs, designs, works of art, movies, etc. were created when their makers were inspired. They just knew they had to bring something great into the world.

When I’m inspired, I write. This is my thing. My moment of peace, when I ignore every distraction and concentrate on what I’m doing. Then every word of mine just pops up and brings the next one until I have written many pages without even realizing.
It is a period of time (a few minutes/hours) when nothing else matters, you are who you are and do what you know you have to do. You lose track of time and simply create.

You don’t need to be a man of art to feel inspired. You can feel in such a way and just generate new thoughts and ideas. Don’t be afraid to find your other side, hidden deep inside you, which can make you do wonders.

1. Go to a magical place.

Regardless of where you live, there are always a few places like this nearby. It may be a beach, a historical museum, a place from which you can see your whole city, an old library, a forest path, a mountain.

Its magic comes from the way it makes you feel. It must have a different atmosphere that helps you forget the rest of the world and unleash your creativity. There you feel harmony, nothing bothers you and you become more energetic, excited and new ideas and thoughts pop up in your mind.

If you still haven’t found it, don’t lose hope. Visit different places every day, try new routes, and just take walks.
Once you find it, you will get in touch with your spiritual side. Maybe then you’ll be able to write better while you are there, or the place will fill you with energy for the rest of the day.

So go out, walk, observe, feel.

2. Connect with nature.

Humans are deeply connected to nature since their first day on this planet. Living in big cities that have so many buildings and are far from the forests have made it hard for us to maintain that connection. Luckily, there are still big parks, woods, gardens and many trees that are protected and well kept.

One long walk in the nature can change your way of looking at things, help you solve a problem, calm you and – most of all –inspire you.

3. Talk to a child.

Children are wise with their innocence, purity and unlimited hope and faith.

They believe that everything is possible because they can only see the beauty of things at that early age.

They are not aware of the money issues, economic problems, diseases, poverty, crime, death and so on. That is why sometimes their ideas can be more creative and effective than those of the best employees in business companies.

A child will give you its honest opinion. It will believe in you and your success. So don’t let it down.

4. Meditate.

Habits Are The New Goals: Why Habits Matter and Where to Start

It is one of the best ways to hear your inner voice, to just contemplate, concentrate on your breathing and control your thoughts.

The universe is so big and many things are yet to be found, but don’t underestimate the secrets hidden in your mind. Unleash your true potential through meditating and become one with the magic you will find inside yourself.

5. Music.

Music is both a motivational and inspirational technique. But we need to make a difference. If you are at the gym, the music you will choose to get you in a mood for working out will probably be loud and with fast beats.

While when you need to get inspired, you can listen to music with nature sounds, for meditation or classical. These are the best types that will relax your mind, body and soul and will wake up the creativity in you.
Just lie down and turn on a good mix of soothing sounds or something by the greatest composers of all time.
Close your eyes and listen.

6. Read.

Read a great novel/poem/essay/biography. This will give you new ideas, help you see the world from another angle and by getting to know someone else’s story, you will find some answers for your life.
Find out what genre of literature inspires you the most and start reading a few pages every morning.

Inspiration is everywhere. You just need to look around and find it. Walk, contemplate, listen, read, breathe and as a result of that – create.

What makes you feel inspired? What lifts you up and brings contentment and peace to your days?
