This is an interview with Megan Haskin from Haskin Creatives.
Hey, Megan. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do.
Hello! My name is Megan and I own Haskin Creatives, a Pinterest Marketing business. I help successful businesses drive traffic to their websites, grow their email lists and sell out their products and services using the power of Pinterest!
I was a full-time digital nomad until a month ago and would travel the world and get to work from anywhere – it was all rather mind-blowing and I absolutely love that this is now my life.
I now help other Pinterest VA’s and Managers book out their services and grow a successful business through my group coaching program.
What does a person need to become a Pinterest manager?
A Pinterest Manager needs good wifi and a laptop to work from, an eye for design and a good mindset to bring you success!
Tell us about the course that helped you start your business – Become a Pinterest VA Today.
The course Become a Pinterest VA was a game-changer for me! I already had some understanding of using Pinterest for businesses and blogs but I had no idea where to start with getting clients or actually building a business.
This course not only gives you all the technical training you’ll need to begin using Pinterest (even if you’re an absolute beginner) but also takes you through creating a website, pitching clients and they even have their very own Facebook Group where they post new leads every week.
What tools do you use to make the most out of Pinterest?
I currently use Canva for my pin designs which is really easy to use and Tailwind to schedule all of my client’s pins so that they are pinning consistently every single day.
One of my favorite business tools that I recently invested in is Dubsado!
What are your main tasks as a Pinterest Manager?
As a Pinterest Manager you schedule client’s content so that they are pinning every single day, you write keyword-rich descriptions so that their content gets found and you create click-worthy pin designs. Easy and fun!
How did you land your first client?
My first client was a wedding photographer that I found on my Instagram. It was very early on in my business and I only had 3 photos on my profile but used #pinterestmanager so got found!
How are you promoting your services and positioning yourself as a Pinterest Marketing Expert?
I currently blog weekly at haskincreatives.com about Pinterest Marketing and use Pinterest (my favorite platform!) to drive traffic.
This has also helped me rank high on Google for Pinterest Management searches. I’ve also used Instagram as a way to connect with other business owners and have had great success with cold emailing ideal clients.

How do you go about creating a Pinterest Marketing strategy for a new client?
My first step would be finding out what the client’s goals are for Pinterest. Whether they want more traffic and brand exposure, to grow their email list or social media followers or simply to generate more income.
From there I create boards and pins using keyword research on Pinterest and also have a look at their funnel and conversion systems on their website.
The first few months are all about testing out different Pinterest strategies, keywords, pin designs to see which convert and get the best results.
When did you turn your side hustle into a full-time business?
I went all in and turned this into a full-time business in the first month, with no option to fail.
I had saved a lot from teaching abroad so was lucky enough to have a buffer while starting my business. This is not for the faint of heart!
What’s your biggest challenge as a Pinterest Manager?
Sometimes it can be challenging to balance life and work because when you’re working from home and you have your own business, your mind is always in work mode.
You have to set clear boundaries with yourself to be a successful Pinterest Manager.
How do you stay productive when working from home?
I assign specific work hours to the day (unless I have a client call and my time zone is very different to my client’s).
“Getting ready” for work each morning has made a huge difference – getting dressed for work, starting work at a certain time, helps me be more productive!
How does a day in your life look like?
My morning begins with a routine of mindset journaling, reading and a healthy breakfast before getting ready for my work day.
Every day varies but I’m usually having client calls, scheduling content or designing pins as well as working on the business side of things for Haskin Creatives – blogging, posting to social media, taking courses or meeting with my business coach.
What’s next for you and Haskin Creatives?
Haskin Creatives has been booked out since January (six months after starting my business!) and we are now ready to take on new clients with the help of my dedicated team members.
I am also helping other Pinterest VA’s and Managers learn to book out their services and turned their Pinterest Marketing businesses into successful careers with my group coaching program that focuses on mindset work and the exact process that got me booked out in just a few months!
