Most people don’t even realize that some of the simple things they do every day could be responsible for the lack of energy.

The things you consider your habits might be the main reason you’re feeling constantly tired and sleepy. It’s important to take measure immediately, if you want to get rid of this unpleasant feeling that could affect all aspects of your life.

Except that you won’t be productive at work, you also won’t have the energy to take care of your other responsibilities. The regular washing of the dishes, the vacuuming, the dusting and the other cleaning tasks require a lot of energy.

Add to that your visit to the gym, the care for your family and your regular job, and it might be impossible to find time to rest.

So it’s best to find out which are the toxic habits that drain your energy and give up on them as soon as possible.

Here they are:

The Bad Habits That Make You Feel Drained

1. Not enough sleep.

No matter how many tasks you have for the day, you need to sleep at least eight hours every night. It’s true that free time is usually insufficient, but that doesn’t mean you have to risk your health in order to finish with all tasks for the day.

Going to bed late is one of the worst habits which, unfortunately, a lot of people have. You’ll see that once you start getting your 8 hours of sleep every night, you’ll feel like a new person.

2. Neglecting your workout.

We all feel too tired sometimes to do our workout.

We think that one visit to the gym will take away all the energy we have left, so we choose to simply go home and spend the evening on the couch.

But that’s a mistake as the workout can actually give you more energy than you expect. While you are exercising, you will not only free yourself from the stress, but will also get in better shape.

3. Nicotine.

People have known for decades that nicotine is addictive and dangerous, yet every year more people light up for the first time only to find themselves still lighting up years later.

Some people make the switch to vaping, but while their lungs get a break from the smoke and tar, vaping comes with its own set of dangers–namely unknown chemicals penetrating your lungs.

The safest solution to smoking cigarettes and vaping nicotine is to quit them all. However, as any smoker can attest, this is much easier said than done. Here are some safe options to help you kick the habit once and for all.

Use the aid of Nicotine Lozenges

A nicotine lozenge provides instant relief from withdrawals because it comes packed with a low dose of nicotine. Unlike cigarettes, lozenges don’t stink, and they don’t contain carcinogens and other toxic chemicals that are detrimental to your health.

Lozenges come in a variety of flavors to provide you with a satisfyingly tasty break from toxin inhalation. For best results, use at least 9 lozenges a day and gradually lower your usage to completely cease your addiction cravings.

Participate in Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Many people abuse nicotine because it helps them find reprieve from stress. If a person using this type of stress relief finds themselves stressed often, they’re habit is going to be much worse than someone who simply smokes for enjoyment.

Cognitive behavior therapy with a therapist will help you identify your triggers and learn of alternative methods to cope with your stress. Learning to change your negative thought patterns can ultimately lead to changing your behavior or habit.

Join a Smoker’s Cessation Support Group

Statistics show smokers have a better chance of quitting when they join a support group. A support group will hold you accountable for your actions while also offering support when you give in to your craving.

There are many organizations that offer support programs, including your local hospital and insurance provider.

Some popular programs are offered through The American Cancer Society as well as The American Lung Association. If you have trouble finding a program near you, call 1-800-Quit-Now.

Install an App or Receive Texts on Your Phone

It may sound too good to be true, but the National Cancer Institute has an app that can help you quit smoking. With the app you an set a quit date and receive goal reminders through text messaging.

You can also find a text messaging service to fit your lifestyle and goals.

You’ll have a better chance of success if you combine the texting service with another aid, such as lozenges or a support group. With all of these programs, you can opt-out at any time.

Go Cold Turkey

You need to have strong willpower to quit cold turkey, but it is possible and many people can attest to it.

The greatest benefit of quitting cold turkey is getting it over with quickly. Evidence suggests that quitting cold turkey increases your odds of staying quit for good, but this method isn’t for everyone due to its extreme difficulty.

The withdrawal symptoms will be stronger and could include irritability, sleeplessness, nausea and trouble concentrating, just to name a few.

4. More carbonated drinks, less water.

Just deciding to start eating healthy isn’t enough, you also have to forget about all carbonated drinks.

Instead of risking your health, you can substitute those with water. This way you’ll be able to free your body from all toxins and chemicals. And that will make you feel more energized.

The sooner you give up on drinking juices and carbonated drinks, the better.

5. Constantly working overtime.

It’s a common problem these days and the consequences are quite unpleasant. If you often stay at the office past your regular working schedule, it’s normal to feel tired all the time.

No matter how much more work you have or how important your projects are, you’ll have to think about your health if you want to change your lifestyle.

Simply leaving some of the tasks for the next day or asking for help is a good start.

6. Skipping breakfast.

Bad idea! And not just because you may ruin your stomach.

It’s true that it’s the most important meal as it gives you the energy you need to start the day.

And it’s not necessary to have a big breakfast as part of your morning routine, but you have to eat something for sure.

We don’t even realize how dangerous for our health could some of our ordinary habits be until we feel the negative consequences.

You can save yourself a lot of troubles by simply learning to distinguish the good habits from the bad ones.

So do you have any of these 6? Do you want to change them?
