Just like I like to present new platforms to the readers of Let’s Reach Success every now and then, so is it worth mentioning the deals going on on the biggest retailers. Saving money and smart online shopping are some of the categories I try to cover here on the blog too.
Well, it’s Amazon Prime Day, and the deals are not to be missed.
What is Amazon Prime?
Because Amazon is the largest Internet retailer out there, and a platform that’s become a big part of our daily lives one way or another, you’re probably familiar with its subscription programs.
The list of the products and services they offer has become quite long over the years, though. But now I want to focus on Amazon Prime.
That’s Amazon’s premium membership program, offering its users a ton of benefits for a monthly or yearly cost.
The benefits of Amazon Prime include the following once you’ve set up an account and have become a Prime member:
- Fast delivery of products.
For a start, Amazon Prime is popular for its 2-day shipping on millions of items.
There’s also the chance to get it shipped on the same day, or with the recently added Prime Now, in some areas that can happen in as little as 2 hours.
- Unlimited video streaming.
Amazon’s on a quest to outgrowing Netflix in terms of user base with one of their products – Amazon Video – that’s a high quality video streaming service.
It’s now available worldwide, and offers more than 15,000 movies and TV episodes.
- Prime Music.
Next on the list of benefits as a Prime member is the access you get to over 2 million songs.
You can listen anywhere, get the chance to hear new releases, aren’t bothered by ads and can download for offline listening.
However, that’s a different deal from Amazon Music Unlimited, which isn’t part of the Prime membership.
- Unlimited photo storage.
The Amazon prime deals also include 5GB for documents and videos, using the Amazon Drive app (available for all devices) to collect, organize, search and view photos.
- One kindle ebook a month.
Having a Kindle device and being a fan of eBooks? Well, Prime includes one book for you monthly.
- Early access.
Then there’s the half an hour early start on Amazon’s deals of the day.
As you may know, these are usually items on sale that are limited, and people are quite eager to get their hands on what they see first. So having early access is a bonus.
So, these are the main benefits of Amazon Prime that you get once you sign up for the service.
Amazon Prime Cost per Month
For US citizens, that’s $10.99 per month, or $99 annually.
For the UK, it’s £7.99/month.
In any case, you get a 30-day free trial to enjoy all the perks of being a Prime member, and can then cancel anytime.
But there’s a reason why I brought this service to your attention this week. It’s because Amazon Prime Day is just around the corner, and I didn’t want you to miss out on the best of the best deals.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Once a year (this is the 3rd one in a row), Amazon Prime decides to go crazy in terms of offers and sales, and they’re on a mission to turning it into one of the best days for shoppers worldwide, who’ve joined their subscription program.
If you’re wondering what the scope of the happening is, estimates show that last year, Prime Day 2016 turned into the biggest day ever for the retailer.
There are special offers for anything included with Prime, and new deals come every 5 minutes.
The whole Prime Day event continues for roughly 30 hours.
If you still haven’t signed up to be a Prime member, Amazon Prime Day is a good enough reason to do it now.
You can create your account right now and start enjoying the benefits right away.

Amazon Prime Day: The Deals Are Everywhere
The Amazon deals never stop. But over the course of the 30 hours during Prime day, things will be like in no other day for the rest of the year.
So if you’re looking for entertainment in terms of books, music or movies, have some items in mind you’ve been meaning to purchase for a long time now, or want to finally become an Amazon subscriber and see how the platform can make your life more pleasant, now is your chance.
How Does Prime Day Work
All you need to do to participate is be part of Amazon Prime by having a membership.
From then on, expect 2 kinds of deals on the big day. The ones lasting all day, and the lightning offers that last for a short time until they run out.
Getting Ready for Prime Day in July
Of course, as with anything else, there’s some preparation you can do if you want to make the most of this ultimate sale.
1. For a start, clear your schedule.
I know it’s not always possible, but if you’re working for yourself, do your work the days before or after.
If not, make sure you use the early morning, all your free time, and your evening.
If you have some other things going on during the period of Prime Day, leave them for later in the week if possible.
2. Make a list.
To not get overwhelmed, know what you want.
Online shopping can turn into a pretty bad habit if you just order anything that’s on sale. There will be many tempting offers that look like once in a lifetime deals, but if you have a list in front of you to work with it will be much easier.
3. Set a budget.
Yes, it will be cheap. But that doesn’t mean you can spend all the money in your bank account.
To keep things under control with Amazon Prime Day and not have regrets after it, have a fixed budget and work with it.
4. Become a member earlier.
If you do want to be part of this but aren’t a Prime member yet, don’t wait till the last moment. Every minute on the site will be precious once the sales begin, so make sure your subscription is set up at least a day or 2 in advance.
Bonus tip: you can simply get access to the free trial, make the most of Prime Day, and then cancel.
5. Get the app.
You’ll need to be quick, as you may have figured out already.
The Amazon app gives you an easier shopping experience wherever you are.
What’s more, you get some credit if you’re a first time user of the application.
6. Involve someone else to help you.
A family member or a friend being behind the screen with you when taking shopping decisions might be a good idea.
It helps to hear another point of view in crazy moments like that. They can also give you some ideas, and make the stress go away by keeping you company.

7. Add Lightning deals to your shopping cart a day earlier.
As we mentioned, these are the hottest things, and Amazon Prime Day will be no exception. And because you’ll be able to see them a day before, make sure you figure out which ones are worth buying and even put them in your cart.
This is a smart move also because by the time you need to purchase, you’ll have the time to rethink and see if you really need that.
When the big day comes, you’ll be a click away from getting any of these items. And keeping in mind how limited these are and what the competition will be like, you’ll be in a good position.
8. Get notified when the sales for what you like go live.
If you take it seriously, you won’t forget about Amazon Prime Day and will make the most of it. But to make sure, you can add things to your list and just get notified when the deal is out there.

I think these tips are enough for you to get your hands on some great products and services on July 10.
Again, get your free month of Amazon Prime today if you haven’t, and start making the preparation before the huge event. Hundreds of thousands of people are getting ready as you’re reading this.
So, what do you think about Amazon Prime Day?
