Executing Business Ideas in 24 Hours
Some people sit on a business idea for years, others execute it quickly. And while doing it in 24 hours might sound impulsive and not at all well thought out, it can sometimes be exactly what you and your business need.
That was the case with the new blog I started recently (BloggingTerms.com) as well as adding a free plan to my blogging membership and community Fearless Bloggers.
I feel inspired, do some research, open Pages on my MacBook and start outlining the idea and its details.
I decide if I have the time and energy to do it, if there’s potential, if my passion for it is strong enough to let me pursue it for 6-12 months so I can really test it.
The initial momentum
The beauty of this is that initial momentum you gain when you come up with a new idea. It decreases over time, and can be gone in as little as a few weeks, or even a few days. Then, you’re less likely to even start a new project.
But if you already started and made a plan, you just need discipline and to follow the steps. You can still give up soon after, but you’re more likely to see some success with more business ideas because of using the initial momentum.
Launching a paid offer in 24 hours
This can be applied to big and small things.
If you come up with an idea for a course, coaching package or masterclass, you can plan and execute a beta launch in 24 hours. I teach all about launching in my program Bold Business School if you’re interested and need help with that. It also covers what you need to know to create a digital product, email list, sales page, and all the other elements that go into a solid paid offer that can become your main income stream over time.
That’s in case you already have an audience. You can send 1 or 2 emails, post on all your platforms, and even reach out personally to people you’ve been in touch with and who’ve shown interest on the topic.
There are many ways to go about it.
Once you make at least one sale, you can go ahead and actually create the product. If it’s something time-consuming such as a course, you can drip the content. You can release, let’s say, 1 module per week or every 2 weeks, and get feedback from the beta students. They will have paid a lower price so they would be happy to help you make the program better for the official launch.
Sometimes, using the initial momentum can change your whole business trajectory. There are many examples of that online – people who started startups, launched digital products, started new blogs, set up new YouTube channels or podcasts, you name it.
Sometimes, that can work better than planning something for 6 months. Because by then, you might not have the powerful energy needed to actually launch something. But if once you do, you’re more likely to give it a chance.
9 out of 10 businesses fail.
We’ve all heard this one, right?
To that I say: then, try 10 business ideas till you get to the one that works. It’s not something I came up with. I think Noah Kagan said it on his podcast.
Executing things in 24 hours helps with this. That doesn’t guarantee your first or next 5 business ideas will stick, make a profit, or become your full-time venture. But that doesn’t mean anything in the big scheme of events.
Regardless of how long it takes, as an entrepreneur, it’s part of your job to test things until you find something so good, so valuable, and so scalable, that you devote your life to it.
What do you think?
Also, I’m back to writing pieces like that on Let’s Reach Success. Short or long ones, doesn’t matter. But inspiring ones that share just one idea. Without the goal of ranking them. Just raw, natural content that comes from my heart. I hope you enjoy it!
