Jeff Bezos’s Morning Routine (And Why Waking Up at 5 a.m. Isn’t Necessary)

Having an app for your business is no longer a choice – it’s a smart marketing investment.

In 2017, the total number of apps downloaded by users exceeded 197 billion.

However, creating an app, and achieving success with it is two different things. The fact is, app development influences SEO quite a bit, as a result, you need to ensure it works.

When it comes to marketing for small businesses, if you are trying to integrate a new app into that process, it never hurts to get a few tips.

Keep reading to learn more about building and app and ensuring it helps your SEO.

1. Keywords Matter

People are only going to be aware that you have an app if they come across it when searching in their app store – or in another location.

In the world of apps, there is something called ASO – App Store Optimization. It is similar to SEO where a search engine identifies an app that’s based on the keyword it’s related to.

Similar to SEO, you need to ensure your app completely represents the business keywords.

It’s a good idea to rely on Google Analytics to find popular terminologies. Following the RDT – Relevance, Difficulty, and Traffic rules – can also help.

2. Create an Attractive Title

Chances are you would never use an app that’s described as a gaming app to shop for items. This is because the person searching for the app will click on the app that best serves their needs or answers their problems.

When you are designing an app, you need to make sure you create an attractive title that’s going to entice a potential user to click on it. Try to use terms that are easy to remember and related to what your app offers.

For example, if you are creating a shopping app, use terms such as cart, online store or shopping.

It’s also a good idea to write a short description after the title. Creating the right SEO title can go a long way in making sure your app is found.

3. Keyword Friendly App URL

There are many people who design a great app and include the right keywords in the description and content. However, many of these people don’t pay attention to the URL used for their app.

A huge mistake is leaving the URL plain and not adding the keyword to it. Because of this, search engines will not know what it means, and as a result, it won’t be accessible to the target population.

If you want to increase your app’s visibility, you need to ensure it’s search engine friendly. All this takes is incorporating relevant keywords.

4. Use the Proper Description

Did you know that only about five percent of users are going to hit the click here, read more, and other related tabs? This means that you need to ensure the description you create offers the best information for the app.

Read the first three to five lines of what is written. At this point, you should be able to make a decision of if you want to keep going and read more about the app or move on to the next option.

Proper ASO and SEO requires you to use keywords in the first sentence and avoiding using excessive keywords throughout.

If you want to ensure your app has the best chance of success possible, then be sure to use the tips an information here.

Today, having an app for your business is a must. However, if you want people to use it, you have to ensure they can find it.
