Blog Traffic
Pageviews: 87,022
Sessions: 72,467
Users: 63,366
Traffic has been staying at one level these months and around 10K page views come from social media, mostly Pinterest.
I keep pinning almost daily but this time don’t add to group boards, re-pin to other of my boards or schedule using a tool as I did before. Now, I follow the new Pinterest practices and am still seeing the same results as before, but will much less effort.
Email Subscribers Update
New Subscribers: 713
Cancellations: 113
Total list size: 4,102
My email list is growing every next month and so many people also respond to my emails, ask questions, give feedback and want to get in touch with me. That’s yet another thing that happened once I took email marketing seriously and switched to ConvertKit.
Now, my email welcome series is designed to connect with new subscribers in a way that provides as much value as possible and encourages them to reach out and share their struggles so I can help them with better content and products.
Blog Updates
Course Updates
I did a lot of product work last month and keep working on that this month too.
First it was updating the bonuses in Financial Freedom Through Blogging. It’s crazy how much can change in 1 or 2 years in my business as I learn more, design better downloadable files, use different brand colors, and want to include better tips.
So it makes sense to update everything I’ve created, not just the free content here on the blog.
Aside from updating the bonus material (such as printables, cheat sheets and other goodies for students of the course), I organized them better. Some are now placed at the end of the Module they belong to, not at the end of the course itself.
Also, I changed the structure of some modules to make them more digestible and there are now Bonus lessons in the course. I improved the sales page too so now the bonus material is described in a much more appealing way.
In addition, I added a new printable (a Password Tracker) to the Blog Planner Bundle, updated my welcome email series and worked on new freebies for subscribers that I’ll be sharing with you soon.
Blog Coaching
I’ve been asked about blog coaching by potential and current students (and have basically been providing that service for some time now without knowing), so it’s now an official part of the course!
Students of Financial Freedom Through Blogging have direct access to me (via email) and we can discuss anything related to the blog they are about to start, just started, or have launched a year or two ago but haven’t grown.
I’ll answer all their questions at every stage of the journey, will provide a professional blog audit, and will revisit their content strategy, SEO strategy, email marketing plan, traffic and monetization game plans.
$1K Blogger: My New Course
Big news! I finally decided what my next product would be, outlined it, and even started working on it.
It’s $1K Blogger, a video course for beginner bloggers looking to earn passive income while at their regular job.
I’m constantly asked to create a simpler and shorter version of Financial Freedom Through Blogging (and also a cheaper one, of course) for those of you who don’t necessarily want to turn their blog into a full-time business, but want to start a blog and grow it to $1K, and have that extra income while working their full-time job at the same time.
Well, here it is. I’ve published the sales page, the whole first module and the course is now open for enrollment with an early bird price.
Social Proof
I’m taking a lot of care of my Teachable school now (it’s where all my courses are) as thousands of students have enrolled in the free courses, I run affiliates, and manage students in the paid programs too. So there’s quite a lot going on there.
I decided to add social proof to the sales pages of all courses to show those thinking of enrolling that many others did it just today or in the last few days.
That builds credibility and trust and is a simple technique that makes people comfortable with a new product.
The social proof can be seen in the bottom left corner – it displays people who enrolled in other courses of mine, their name and location.
I actually checked all available social proof tools out there, free and paid, and played a lot with them all to find the most convenient one.
The only one that answered my criteria is ProveSource and I’m now paying monthly for it.
New Content
Let me start with the 2 new interviews I published last month. The first one is with Annette from The Bucket List Journey – a woman who’s been crossing items off her bucket list for as long as she can remember and who even built a business around it.
She started a bucket list blog which turned into an award-winning website in the travel and lifestyle industries, and she helps people come up with new ideas for their bucket lists as well as accomplish them.
She also earns over $10K/month from it, and tells me all about how she started the blog, sustains her travel lifestyle, and the best memories she’s made, in our interview.
The next interview is about earning passive income through Amazon. If you aren’t sure what Amazon offers and need some motivation to give it a try, check out the story of Winnie who makes over $2K/month.
Some cool things you’ll learn are:
- how she went from being diagnosed with a bipolar disorder to becoming location independent, traveling and making money online
- what her first side hustle was and why it failed
- how she monetizes her blog
- how many passive income streams she has and what they are
- what got her into Kindle publishing and whether it’s profitable for anyone
- how to publish a book on Amazon that will make you money forever
and more.
Her story truly inspired me. Winnie has achieved a lot online, knows her business model pretty well and now teaches others how to do the same.
