Welcome to my June blog income report.
I publish monthly income reports to share the numbers (earnings and expenses) from my blogging business and the mistakes I made, the lessons I learned, and the new projects I’m about to work on.
You can find all income reports here.
I’m currently earning a few thousand dollars a month thanks to blog sponsorships, ads, affiliate marketing, and selling my course Financial Freedom Through Blogging.
Read on to see what happened in June 2019 on Let’s Reach Success.

I reached 100K monthly page views
Blogging milestones are great. I once earned $5000 in a month from my blog and business. Another month, I got my Pinterest page views to 500K which brought a lot of traffic from there too.
There’ve been smaller milestones too as I never stop experimenting and learning (you’ll see my new progress project below). Now, however, I am happy to say I’ve reached 100K page views on my blog. That means over a million per year!
But here comes the next important thing to discuss – more page views doesn’t necessarily mean more money if you don’t monetize strategically. Some website owners earn $10,000 per month with much less than 100,000 page views. And while plenty of bloggers would love to see their Google Analytics show 100K each month, they wouldn’t know what to do with that traffic and most of it will be irrelevant.
The point is, you want only the right people on your website. Those that will engage with your content, sign up for your newsletter, download your freebies, build a relationship with you, and – ultimately – click your affiliate links and buy your products.
That’s why creating a sales funnel is key in a blogging business once you have the traffic. But getting people in that sales funnel is a work of art, one I haven’t mastered yet. That’s why I’m about to learn from the experts over the next few months, which brings me to the next big thing that happened in my life and business last month…
I’m taking Six Figure Blogger
You might remember that I interviewed Alex Nerney from Create and Go for Let’s Reach Success some time ago. He and Lauren are six-figure bloggers. They’ve taken their 2 blogs from $0 to over $100K/month and now teach others how to do the same.
Also, earlier this year I took one of their most popular courses – Pinterest Traffic Avalanche. It’s the formula that showed me how to drive tens of thousands of visitors for free to my blog every month using Pinterest.
In a recent article, I shared how I managed to grow my Pinterest traffic by 778% in 2 months thanks to this course.
Now, it’s time for my next step and I know the right product for that.
The most detailed course Alex and Lauren have – which has taken thousands of bloggers to five and six figures in revenue – is called Six Figure Blogger and I just purchased it.
It’s more expensive ($297) and definitely not for those who haven’t started a blog yet, have no traffic and no idea how to monetize to earn a few hundred bucks a month from their blogs.
To them, I can recommend Alex and Lauren’s course for beginner bloggers – Launch Your Blog Biz.
They also have a bundle. You can get both courses for a lower price with the Blog Biz Bundle.
The reasons why I’m taking Six Figure Blogger are:
- I have enough traffic but am not earning as much as I can from my platform
- I never took email marketing seriously and am still with a free provider (MailChimp)
- Most of the content on Let’s Reach Success isn’t optimized for sales
- I’m not building relationships with my visitors
- I don’t have a real strategy for a six-figure blogging business
- I don’t have a sales funnel (turning visitors and email subscribers into buyers)
All this I’m gonna learn from Alex and Lauren who have successfully done it. I’ll review Six Figure Blogger soon so you too can find out if it’s the right next step for you and your blog.
Traffic Update
Pageviews: 103,231
Sessions: 84,032
Users: 72,702
Blog traffic was at its highest again, although my social media efforts aren’t paying off. That goes to show the power of SEO – content I’ve written months and even years ago is now bringing me a ton of organic traffic.
That’s why one of the key lessons in my course Financial Freedom Through Blogging are about SEO. I cover the tech side of it (from a blogger’s point of view, of course) but also the exact articles I’ve tried to rank, how I’ve outlined them, how long they are, what I’ve included, how many times the keyword appears, how I’ve interlinked them, etc.
Most bloggers tend to prefer Pinterest as it’s a quicker way to get traffic. However, even if you do well there, maintaining a steady flow of traffic can be a challenge.
I recently reached 500K Pinterest page views and some of my pins went viral, but now the views have dropped to nearly 250K.
SEO, however, feels like passive income. You do the work once and let search engines do the rest. You might need to wait for a long time, but then the results are undeniable (provided you wrote a great piece, of course).
Content Update
I published a total of 45 articles on Let’s Reach Success last month. Let’s go through the most interesting pieces.
Interviews:
As you know, I’m super passionate about interviewing other bloggers and online business owners who started from nothing and now live an incredible life. That’s because we can all do the same, we just need to stay focused on our goals long enough.
These stories I share on my blog are to inspire you, show you that it’s possible, and help you generate ideas. Here are last month’s interviews:

June Blog Income Report
I earned a total of $4,305 in June 2019 from my blogging business.
Please keep in mind that’s gross income.
After extracting fees I pay to other platforms, transaction fees, paying my own taxes and insurance and covering my pension as a solopreneur in the Netherlands, there’s much less left for me to spend.
You can see the progress here together with all other income reports.
Blog Income Breakdown
Sponsorships: $3186
Ads: $700
Freelancing: $240
Affiliate earnings: $128
Books: $51
TOTAL (Gross Income): $4305
I spent a lot of money in June because of I moved to my new home in Amsterdam and began furnishing it (the spending will continue in July due to my now higher rent, more furnishing and preparation of the new home, and traveling to Belgium for Tomorrowland).
Luckily, blog income this month was also higher. That’s the beauty of creating passive systems that work for you and having a blogging business that surprises you some months of the year!
And that’s one of the main reasons why I started writing about all this, teaching people how to start and monetize a blog, and releasing FREE courses on the topic to help all those who want to make money online with a blog.

What are some unusual/strange feelings you will experience as a new blogger/entrepreneur?
Starting a blog, especially if you’re planning to turn it into a business, goes together with some emotions you might not enjoy.
For a start, there’s ‘not knowing what the hell you’re doing’. As you’re starting a new project – one you’ve never done before – that’s absolutely normal. The good thing about having a blog is that there won’t be any visitors in the beginning until you begin bringing them. So until then, you can experiment as much as you want in terms of content, design, brand and more.
Remember, no blogger ever knew what they were doing when they started. It’s okay if you start with one niche but end up writing about another. It’s okay if you have no idea how you’re going to grow that blog or make money from it. Figure it as you go. But start today!
Another unusual feeling is the self-doubt. As you’re producing content that you then have to prepare for publishing and start sharing with your audience and on social media, you’ll also fear being judged.
You will doubt your abilities as a blogger, your authority, and will ask yourself ‘Why would people even listen to me?’
So write about what you know. In the beginning, when Let’s Reach Success was just a hobby, I was writing about the new habits I was building and about overcoming the mental barriers. I discussed social anxiety, living in a non-understanding world, why I love writing, how sports help me, etc.
Now, it’s all about online business, blogging and reaching financial independence to then live your best life. I never knew I’d take that direction, but I also wasn’t ready to know that just yet in the early days.
Confusion is another emotion you might experience. With so much information on blogging out there, it’s easy to get overwhelmed, to start listening to many people at once and get distracted. But if you work on too many things at once (and listen to too many different opinions), you won’t see results.
It’s important to find what you’re good at and do it, to find the right niche and writing voice for you, your favorite way to promote content, the tools that will help your blog grow faster, etc.
So, I say, choose 1 or a few bloggers who have reached some level of success and learn from them.
How can I cope with writer’s block as a new writer?
I used to struggle with writer’s block for a long, long time until I sat down one day and tried to define it. I couldn’t come up with a good definition and even thought that it’s an idea I’ve developed in my mind simply because it’s sort of a trend among writers.
If you look closer and try to find the underlying reasons for not writing at all or not doing it often, you might see plenty of excuses.
Maybe you only want to product quality work so you won’t even try writing something average. But hey, all great writers have written a ton of work that never got published. Even if 1 page out of 30 is worth publishing, then you’re onto something.
Another possible barrier to unleashing your creativity is not feeling ready. But there’s no level you can reach without actually sitting down and writing.
At the end of the day, writer’s block is most often a way to avoid the hard part – sitting down to write (which means facing our weaknesses, the chance of failing, of not being satisfied with our work, of being judged).
Once you get over these feelings, writer’s block will cease to exist and won’t have power over you.
If you’re a blogger and not just a freelance writer, things are much, much easier. This blog is what allowed me to show my work to the world and understand that those who don’t like it, simply won’t stay on the site. But guess what? That’s not the type of reader you want either. You want like-minded website visitors. So put those blog posts out there and watch them coming!
How can I organize my priorities as a new blogger?
You already have other priorities in life, which means blogging becomes a new one. Whenever we have a new thing on our to-do list, we should take another look at our priorities and see which ones are most important.
There are only 24 hours in a day, and depending on how much you’re willing to invest in your blog, you can spend 1-3 hours working on it daily. You can also do it a few times a week, or dedicate the whole weekend to that.
Whatever the case is, sit down and make a plan. Write it and make sure you follow through.
Once working on your blog becomes a weekly habit and something you don’t push yourself to find time for but do naturally, you can categorize the different blogging tasks you have and prioritize them.
That might be:
- Writing and publishing 2 blog posts a week (make sure you always stay consistent with your publishing schedule and don’t leave your blog without new content for a week or two);
- Reading 1 big SEO guide (like those from Neil Patel, for example) per week, taking notes and following the exact steps outlined by the expert;
- Taking your first blogging course;
- Creating more Pins for each blog posts, sharing them on Pinterest and scheduling them using Tailwind;
- Researching hot topics in your niche, using Google Keyword Tool to find a good keyword and planning blog post titles based on that.
Have a list of the specific activities required to grow your blog every week and make time for each item.
How can I remain sane while building my brand?
If you’re asking yourself this, it means you’re doing too many things at once. Branding is a big project and it doesn’t need to happen right away. Go through the initials stages of being a blogger first (publish your main pages and write your first blog posts, get on Pinterest, start an email list, design your blog, optimize your articles for search engines).
Once you have this, you already have a brand. Each element defines how people see you online and whether or not they will trust you. Later, you can join all social media platforms, create a better logo, take more time when choosing your brand colors, use better images for your blog, etc. Until then, all that’s already on your blog is your brand. Grow it through your content.
