This is such a common feeling for people who are coming up to their 30’s and 40’s realize.
All of a sudden, you’ll have this daunting thought that you’re not a young person anymore. You’re not a teenager who has the comfort of school. You’re not someone in their 20’s who has the excuse or wanting to live life.
You’re someone who should be settled down and successful, but how often does that happen? What does it even mean? Everyone has their own versions of what success is.
To some people, it’s simply getting through life, day by day. You don’t have to be rich and famous to be successful. But we do feel like you should be meeting some of your own personal lifestyle points.
Everyone deserves to live the life that they want to live, and you shouldn’t feel like your path has been created for you.
Society expects us to have a house, have children, and live the life that the world wants us to live. Well, we don’t think it should be that way at all.
It’s your own personal goals that you achieve that makes you successful, and we’re going to show you how you can meet a few. Perhaps after reading this and actioning it, you might feel a little more successful.
Successful With Work
Work will no doubt be the area in your life that you want to feel success, but struggle the most.
Not all of us are lucky enough to have made the right choices when we were younger. Some of you might have messed around at school, choose a job instead of going to college, and grew up in a time where it was more acceptable to do so.
We were not to know the world was about to change and wants qualifications for every job role that oozes success. So there’s this big pool of people who have been the workhorses of society for so long, but have ended up in roles where they’re never going to be able to be successful.
To be successful in your career, we feel like you have to feel like you’re worth something. People have to know and respect you, and you have to be the one that people come to.
Managerial roles are pretty much the only time this is going to happen. Or just a role where you have purpose and power, such as education. Plus, there are plenty of courses that you could take a leap of faith and sign up to.
You never have to stop learning, there’s access to it everywhere. Learn more about the courses that might suit you by following that link! It’s important to remember that you control your own destiny with work, you shouldn’t feel tied down to anything.
How Others See You
We do things to impress other people. Some of you will have got to the point where you’re only doing things to suit you, and you don’t really care about what others think.
To get to that stage of your life is bliss, and it will come. If you’re not quite there yet, you should be thinking about the ways that others see you, and how successful you can be to them.
Those around you, especially family, are going to be the judgement you need to push you to do better.
Success to family and friends is seeing you meet those milestones in life. Settling down, buying a house, having a steady job, having kids.
They’re all the milestones that we’d be expected to meet, and we think you should ignore them all. You should be doing things at your own pace, and having your own fun in life.
It doesn’t matter if the judgement of others is negative because you’re not doing what they want you to do!
Tick a Few Off The Bucket List
You’re always going to have a bucket list, even if you don’t realize it. It’ll be a mental list that you make in your mind every time you see something that you’d like to do.
But we often leave them as a mental bucket list, and never tick it off. However, success is getting the most out of life, not just the career that you have.
You want to be able to look back on life and know that you have lived it to the fullest. So, start by writing down a list of things that you’ve always wanted to do.
It doesn’t have to be a travel bucket list, it just needs to be something you’ve always wanted to do. From trying a new food to learning a new hobby, you can do it all!
