Released $1K Blogger with an early bird price
In May I released my new course (after a lot of thinking, planning and outlining and trying to come up with the best product I can create for my existing audience who can’t afford Financial Freedom Through Blogging). $1K Blogger is now open for enrollment (with an early bird price as only a few modules are released).
It’s for those who don’t want to necessarily build a blogging business or earn a lot online or even quit their job. But who might need an extra income and are ready to give blogging a try.
I walk you through the steps of starting and designing a blog, growing and monetizing it so it can earn you $1000/month in passive income.
I believe an extra $1000 can be life-changing in many ways, be it to pay some bills, pay off debt faster, live a more comfortable life, take better care of your family, add to your savings, travel, or else.
For the purpose of this course, I built a new website myself (1kblogger.com) so students can follow my exact steps (hence the new expense you saw above for a domain name and hosting).
The first few modules are completed and published and some people already enrolled. I’m not promoting the course heavily yet, only mentioning it to my newsletter. The sales page is ready and explains who the course is for, what’s inside, my story, why most blogs don’t make money, etc.
It’s a video course too! For those of you who know me, I’ve stayed away from video content for a long time. I know it’s the best format for a course though and want to give people the best experience and provide the information in the most convent way so learning and applying can be a breeze.
I now create video presentations and include the transcript below on each lesson. It’s fun but also challenging. I do want to offer video courses though, so that also motivated me to start another big project.
Financial Freedom Through Blogging 2.0 is coming
One thing that wasn’t okay with my premium blogging course Financial Freedom Through Blogging is that it was text-based. Sure, the tech tutorials involved videos, but these weren’t my best work either.
However, I don’t regret creating the first version this way. It’s still a super detailed course and the best product I’ve ever created and I’m proud of it.
Now, it’s time to get to the next level. Each lecture will be turned into a video presentation, each tech tutorial will be recorded all over again.
New lessons will be added and the content of all current lectures will be updated.
I have a big vision for this course but there’s no way to say when it will be completed as the current update takes a lot of work.
That doesn’t mean the course is closed for enrollment now. Not at all. In fact, it’s a nice opportunity for those looking for a blogging course to invest in it now (while it’s at its current price) because once it’s all updated and new modules and special lessons are added (yes, that will be happening too), the price will double.
I will then have a really expensive product, which is a bit scary. But it’s one way to be selective with who enrolls and how serious they are about it.
For those who like my work but are on a budget, $1K Blogger will always be available at a pretty affordable price.
Financial Freedom Through Blogging, though, is about creating a business that provides financial independence and allows you to live your best life. There I share it ALL.
Deleted one third of my email list
I finally removed 1,600+ cold subscribers from my email list. ConvertKit allows doing that easily and I also sent a re-engagement campaign.
Whenever I listen to experts talking about email marketing, I hear that the number of subscribers hardly ever matters. Yet, people focus way too much on it.
I had 4-5K, with 500+ new ones joining monthly, yet I had to delete 1600. That makes my list smaller, but I’m happy I did it.
Those who don’t open the emails shouldn’t be on that list. The goal is to create a community of engaged subscribers.
New Content
31 articles were published (or re-published) on the blog this month. Most of the new content I created was related to the pandemic and how we can make the most of it in the key aspects of life.
Here are the articles on quarantine life, self-isolation, social distancing, crisis, etc:

You might also check my previous income report, as well as the 2 amazing people I had the chance to interview in May.
First is Caitlin Pyle – a former freelance proofreader who lives in Florida. That was her primary income ($40k+ per year!) – until she realized that she was just as good at teaching proofreading as she was at actually doing the proofreading itself.
After some encouragement from her husband, Ben, she created an online transcript proofreading course which now has hundreds of graduates, and almost all of them have incredible success stories.
She’s turned her side hustle into a 7-figure business but was once a freelance proofreader herself earning $4,000/month from home.
Read the whole interview here.
Caitlin has put together a FREE 76-minute workshop, where she will share:
- What a successful proofreader does (and doesn’t do!)
- How to elevate your skills to become a GREAT proofreader
- How to use one of the most popular proofreading tools out there… and learn a few places to find clients!
- More about the proofreading profession
So if you want to kickstart your proofreading career, you can get free access to the webinar here.
Next is Whitney, a mom of 2 who started making money online so she can stay home with her kids, and now earns a full-time income this way. She even quit her 9 to 5 and is expecting a third child now. Read her story here.
My Plan for Next Month
- Course content creation – In June, I’ll create a lot of content, mainly for my courses ($1K Blogger needs its next lessons published and Financial Freedom Through Blogging needs all text lectures turned into video lesson). Meanwhile, I’ll keep producing content for the blog and my email list.
- Taking a new course – Educating myself on anything related to blogging and running an online biz is a must. Otherwise, I tend to get too comfortable with knowing what I already know and that limits me. Next month, I’ll take an email marketing course. So far, I haven’t invested in one on this specific topic, yet it’s my main focus these months and I need further instructions from an expert in the field. My choice for a product is The Hot List (by Krista Dickson who’s making six figures from courses and her email list).
- Email marketing – speaking of email marketing, I already have a lot planned to do (which will become even more once I enroll in the new course). I’m planning to make changes to old freebies, remove some and organize the Resource Library better so any new subscriber can be welcomed to it and have a nice experience.
